Well, the day has come. This is the day we say goodbye to Nathan for awhile. I am facing yet another deployment, yet this time, I will have four children, ages 5, 4, 2 and 3 months to care for. ALL. BY. MYSELF!!! I will be completely honest and tell you that I feel completely inadequate for the job that is before me. I have so many doubts as to whether I can do this by myself, for as long as this deployment lasts. I have cried many times over the past few days...especially in the past 24 hours. But, I know that ultimately, the Lord will watch over us and protect us and give me the strength to get through each day. I know that He has a purpose and a plan for me and that through this difficult time, He will teach me and grow me. In a way, there is an exciting time ahead...to see the works of the Lord in my life.
I am purposing to try to blog every day of this deployment. For several reasons...first so that my husband can keep up with what is going on in the lives of his family. Second, for therapy for myself. I think it will do me good to take the time to write down what happens. And third, to show the good works of the Lord. I had the privilege of meeting a 91 year old woman a couple of weeks ago. She said that she journals every day of her life, and she can see the good works of the Lord in every day. So, I hope that through blogging, I can see the good works of the Lord and praise him through this storm.
Today, I woke with the thought that I hated this day. But...
"This is the day that the Lord has made, I WILL REJOICE and be glad in it."
Beth, I know the Lord will see you through! Have you listened to the song "Blessings" by Laura Story? Very inspiring! Love, Laura Renes
ReplyDeletePraying for you sweet friend. Wish I lived closer. :( Are you going to OKC at all? Maybe we could meet up there sometime?
ReplyDeleteWe will be praying for you and Nathan's safety. You are an awesome Mom, I wish that we could be there to help you.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a great idea! I started a blog several weeks ago after having what I would call a "breakdown". I felt the Lord telling me to stop dwelling on the negative, as it will destroy me. You can follow my blog at 3deflections.blogspot.com
My desire is to find the "delight" in each day. Trying to keep my focus on Phil 4:8. I'll be praying and following your blog!
Blessings to you cousin!
Love,
Denise
Beth,
ReplyDeleteYou are a strong woman, mother, wife, and daughter of God! I know that you will get through this time without Nate and when he returns home, your life will be whole once again. Take it day by day. Try not to look at the deployment as a whole, but a day by day! You are beautiful and spiritual and your children are so blessed to have YOU as their children. God knew what He was doing when He chose you!
I pray this time goes by fast, but not too fast so that you enjoy this time with your children. I pray for the help you need and the support you need when needed!
Ruth,
ReplyDeleteI'm not planning on coming to OK, but if I do, I'll let you know. Brianna is in school, so that puts a damper on trying to get home for any length of time. But, if he extends into the summmer (very likely) we will go home. Miss you!
